Why this program
This program is designed to give each student a strong foundation for further self-study grounded in yoga philosophy.
As the teachers and students travel this path together, we will explore the rich roots of the yoga tradition as well as many of the branches which have grown from these deep roots. Through in-depth study and discussion of the Yoga Sutras you will explore the application of ancient tools to your daily life and yoga practice. Our goal is for you to develop the skills necessary to joyfully and peacefully navigate our complex world.
HOW WE APPROACH ASANA
To become a yoga teacher it is necessary to have a deep understanding of the physical body, the breath and the mind.
Your curriculum will include a study of tantra, vinyasa krama, ayurveda, philosophy, anatomy, and biomechanics.
We also emphasize a commitment to conscious breathing, which is the very foundation of every yoga pose. By aligning with the breath and understanding the importance of mindful sequencing our teacher trainees learn how to teach dynamic, safe classes.
YOGA AS A TRANSMISSION OF ENERGY
As the program progresses, trainees build skills not only in teaching excellent asana, but also in learning how to develop a deep rapport with their students. The trust that results from this connection allows the transmission of knowledge from teacher to student to spawn the process of transformation, which is vital to the embodiment of the principals of yoga and their assimilation into our lives.
The program includes:
Philosophical concepts necessary to take yoga off the mat
